USA Indoor Cricket Team Finalizes Squad for 2025 M

USA Indoor Cricket Team Finalizes Squad for 2025 Men’s Open World Cup

Plano, Texas – August 14, 2025: USA Indoor Cricket has officially announced its 12-member squad for the 2025 Men’s Open Indoor World Cup, set to take place in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The journey began on May 15, 2025, when the USA confirmed its participation and released trial dates.

Trials were held on May 28, June 5, and June 19 at Lords Indoor Sports, Plano, Texas, with a total of 44 players from across the country participating. Following the trials, the first cut of 17 players was announced on June 23.

The selection process extended over 50 days, allowing these players to focus on fitness, commitment, and travel readiness, as well as manage work approvals and personal logistics. Practice sessions were held twice a week, combined with fitness testing, to ensure players met the competitive standards of the World Cup.

Today, the final squad of 12 has been confirmed. The team will be led by Captain Pranav Bhatt — skipper of the USA’s 2024 Club World Series Championship team — and Vice Captain Ahmed Mubashir, who captained the 2025 Club World Series squad in Dubai and is one of the most experienced indoor cricketers in the USA.

While the USA does not yet have a dedicated national coach, the players have been preparing collaboratively by studying game footage and strategies from the world’s top teams. Sibu Mathew, USA Indoor Cricket delegate, will serve as the Team Manager for the tournament.

“We are excited to represent the USA at the 2025 Men’s Open Indoor World Cup in Colombo,” said Sibu Mathew. “This team is a mix of proven performers and rising talent, and we’re ready to compete on the global stage.”
